Birtles Equestrian, a riding school located in the lovely Cheshire countryside of Cranage, just outside Holmes Chapel - is a friendly, welcoming place that aims to get you going and enjoying yourself at the same time! We provide a friendly yet professional environment which is suitable for both children aged seven and over, as well as adults. Care and consideration is given always when dealing with individual people’s needs so that we can help beginners master the rising trot, or help those more advanced progress even further with their skills!

We pride ourselves in being a well-run family business with the welcome addition of outside staff that work together to provide a positive, knowledgeable and safe atmosphere for anyone to enjoy.

Our services include;

• Riding lessons, with the option to ride outside in those lovely spring and summer months! These come in a range of different styles, with privates, group lessons and semi-privates!

• The aim to get new riders attempting their rising trot on the first lesson. We lunge our beginner riders to give them the sense of security, but also to start their independent thinking & listening. Lunging allows them to get the rising trot, pick up the beat and pace, as well as getting used to the horse! All our riders have thrived this way- and then enjoy themselves in the group lessons with others!

• Natural Healing, through reiki, healing hands and even through time spent with the horses themselves.

• A horse loaning scheme for existing clients.

• Fun Pony Days, Events and Competitions for existing clients!

Our onsite facilities include, but aren’t limited to;

• An enclosed indoor 20 x 40 arena

• Two outdoor riding fields, with either being able to be used as a jumping paddock

• A Cross Country course located within our fields

• Experienced and Qualified Staff able to offer sound teaching and advice

• 17 Horses and Ponies who are schooled to a high standard
